The Zinfandel vineyards are located on the hillsides in the scenic and bucolic setting of the historic Dry Creek Valley. This region has long been considered the Mecca for great Zinfandel. The vines are head-pruned and hand-picked from old vine vineyards.

The growing season saw low amounts of rain followed by a warm summer that accelerated harvest, color, and concentrated flavors. Hand-picked, the harvest was the second week of September. The grapes and growing season produced a beautiful wine exhibiting mild acids and vivid, deep flavors. Temperature controlled fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks with daily pumpovers to extract color and flavor from the skins. Additional complexity developed with the aging in American oak barrels.
